A Most Bespeckled Hat
01/21/13 — Made a pom pom & attached it. Now it just needs to be sent to its recipient!
01/10/13 — Finished knitting! (Knit an extra repeat of the speckle pattern to make a longer hat.) Now I’m wet-blocking it and I’ll weave in the ends and make a pom pom when it’s dry :D
01/07/13 — Ripped 2.5 inches of body back down because I was being a dolt about the colorwork. (For some reason, I wanted to carry the CC yarn along all the rounds. That was an unnecessary burden…) It’s going so much faster now that I don’t have to worry about the CC yarn! (After working the speckled round, I drop the CC yarn and then pick it up again when I need it for the next speckled round.) I intend to make a pom pom out of the two colors so I’m excited about that, too! It’ll be my first time making a pom pom.
01/06/13 — Knit 2×2 rib for 4in for the brim. Contemplated making it longer (since the intention is to wear the hat with the brim folded up) but stuck with the instructions as written. I’ll probably make the hat longer, though. We’ll see. I’m using the magic loop method to knit this hat so I can try it on as I go along.
