Gathered Scarf
01/13/10 — UGH! I’ve given up on this scarf. It’s not the pattern: it’s the freakin’ yarn. It’s so awful. I’ve decided to finish up the third skein and give this scarf away to a charity or something. My friend is getting a different scarf.
01/10/10 — I am not letting myself take on any more projects until I finish this scarf! I can’t keep neglecting it in favor of other items in my queue. (It’s pathetically only 42 inches long now.) But damn alpaca wool keeps shedding all over me and whatever I’m sitting on :\
12/31/09 — Up to 38 inches long. Slowly but surely, it’s getting there…
12/30/09 — It’s now 28.5” long. I’m practically half way there! I wish I could finish it by tomorrow, before the new year is upon us… but, eh, we’ll see.
12/29/09 — Man, this scarf is taking a long time… It’s only 22” long now. (I introduced the second skein a few inches back.) I’m only doing 30-40 rows on any given day just because the pattern is annoying me.
12/28/09 — Up to 16 inches long… and I’m already on the last few yards of the first skein. I ended up going out and buying two more skeins of the Alpaca Natural Blends in Peony just to make sure I’ll have enough for a 5’ long scarf.
12/27/09 — I’m knitting this scarf for my best friend. She had originally requested a different style but … I couldn’t make it work :\ So I scoured Ravelry until I came across this pattern. It’s a pain in the ass (is it just me or is the row of KFB increases incredibly difficult & tight?) and it requires a lot of yarn… but the end result is so nice! I just hope Kate likes it. [img]
