08/20/11 — Frogged. I made a mistake 4 months ago that wasn’t worth salvaging. This yarn will be turned into another hat.
04/09/11 — Knit until the St st band was about 4” then struggled to knit the folded hem shut. It was awkward and fiddly and my hands hurt now… but it’s done. I then knit one round even. I’ll continue tomorrow.
04/05/11 — Got 11 sts × 17 rows = 2” × 2”. Compare that with the pattern’s 12 × 20. So if 120 CO sts will make a 20” circumference hat, I will need to cast on … 112 sts (multiple of 8) and knit for about 36 rnds to make the brim.
04/04/11 — Swatching on US 5s. I’ll be adjusting the pattern as necessary to make the medium size (20” circ).
