2022-02-21: :sob: I intentionally dropped some stitches to fix a funky stitch… Only to realize too late that it was a double stitch for a German short row :woman-facepalming: I’ve read multiple tutorials and watched countless videos on rescuing dropped GSR stitches but they all seem to assume they were dropped in the previous row, not 4+ rows back, and I can’t figure out how salvage the sleeve and I’m crying and my elderly cat, Dixon, decided now is the time to sit on my chest and lick my neck and I’m so frustrated and annoyed and in tears.

2022-02-20: Picked this up again. Knit ~1” of the first (left) sleeve before putting it down for the night.

2022-02-09: Ribbed hem is complete! The sleeves will be picked up and knit another day. In the meantime, I’m having my cat, Lucy, model the unfinished sweater.

2022-02-08: Finished knitting the body (while watching the first season of “Emily in Paris”–in one sitting), just trying to bind off using Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off (using US 4 needles) in the 2×2 rib but it’s already past midnight… Will save it for another day.

2022-02-07: Knit a few more inches while watching the first season of “The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window.” Bingo.

2022-02-06: I had my son try on the unfinished sweater to make sure I was on the right track. He didn’t want to put it on but eventually succumbed to wearing it on top of the 2 long-sleeved shirts he already had on. Other than the cast on being a little too tight, it seemed to fit :woman-shrugging: I continued to knit the body and got as far as 6.5” from the armhole. To be continued.

2022-02-05: Opted to do the short rows to raise the back a little bit. Separated for the sleeves (though did not cast on additional stitches, as instructed, and will pick up and increase additional stitches when I begin working on the sleeves). Working the textured pattern all the way down the front.

2022-02-03: A few rounds away from separating for the sleeves. Making decent progress.

2022-02-02: I tried to make a similar sweater for my son last year… But that languished on my needles, unfinished. I’m not sure why I think this time will be different but I’m giving it another go :woman-shrugging: Used the recommended Norwegian Twisted Cast On method (with the larger needles, accidentally) but still doesn’t feel stretchy enough. Hopefully my son can comfortably fit his noggin through the neck hole!
