2021-12-31: And mitten #2 is done. My son likes them but wishes they were rainbow colored, like the skein. I will have to find a vegan rainbow self-striping yarn that I can use to make the pair of mittens of his dreams :rainbow:
2021-12-30: Tried both suggested CO methods. Neither was especially stretchy. Used US 7 needles with the Tiddlybuddy Super Stretchy Cast On method. Used US 2 needles to knit in 1×1 rib for 2.5” for the cuff. Switched to US 4 needles for the body of the mitt. For the thumb gusset, increased for 2 fewer stitches than called for. Worked palm for N” before starting decreases. Decreased until 8 sts remained then pulled yarn through live stitches. Worked thumb as written. Next up: right mitten!
