Slouchy Beret (red)
01/05/10 — In the photos of the finished item, you can see how wonky my cables are… but I don’t care! This was my first attempt at ‘em and I think I did moderately well, thankyouverymuch! ;) It feels a little tight on my head and I think I would like it slouchier… but it’s for a 10-year-old, so I hope it’ll fit her better. Now to make a matching one in white for her sister!
01/03/10 (12:28 AM) — Finished! I blocked it and it’s drying on a plate right now. Hopefully that will give it that coveted slouchy look… because, right now, it’s a little tight. But I had fun knitting it! Made a couple of mistakes (still getting used to knitting in the round) but nothing really bad so I just left it as is.
01/03/10 — Decided that I don’t need to make hats for distant relatives I’ve never met… but I do need to make hats for the family members I see all the time. So I’ve decided to make this slouchy beret for my 10-year-old cousin Valery. (If all goes well with this hat, her 8y/o sister, Alexis, will be getting the same hat in a different color.)
