Time Traveler Socks
03/05/2014 — Added some action shots, including one where my cat decided he needed to be the center of attention. ‘Cause that’s how cats do ;)
02/21/2014 — Happy to report that the second sock is shaping up to be an identical twin! It just so worked out that the colors of the in-progress sock are matching quite nicely with the finished sock. Happy coincidence!
02/18/2014 — Thanks to some subway & lunchtime knitting, the first sock has been finished! And it fits perfectly. I went a little longer in the leg and a little shorter in the ribbing. Will need to make sure second sock is a replica for an even fit. Bonus: It was my first time using Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Sewn Bind Off! I’m not crazy about the puckering and it’s not as stretchy as I would like it to be. In the future (though not with this sock’s twin), I’ll just use Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off instead. (FWIW: Sock weighs 37g. Should have enough yarn for second sock… plus maybe a pair of baby/toddler socks?)
02/17/2014 — Had hoped to use the holiday (Presidents’ Day!) to knit myself a pair of socks. I had underestimated how much time an adult-sized sock—knit with fingering-weight yarn using size US 0 needles—would take. (My new estimate: ~12hrs/sock.) I managed to get most of the first sock done today.
